This home in Pitt Meadows had concrete settlement issues on the outside patio and walkways. The settlement had caused the concrete to sink and become uneven, leaving gaps between the home and the sidewalk. The settlement had also caused the concrete to crack throughout the walkway and patio. 

Concerned about the concrete walkway and patio becoming unusable before the winter , this homeowner wanted a convenient and effective solution. This family uses their walkways and patios often, especially when its raining or slippery from snow. When concrete is damaged in the colder seasons, it is at risk for trip hazards, pooling water and ice buildup.

THE SOLUTION 

Our specialist completed a thorough inspection of the walkway and patio and determined the best plan of attack. Since the customer was concerned about safety issues over the cold season, we wanted to address the stability of the concrete. Our specialist determined that with PolyLevel foam  would be the best solution to effectively lift, re-level, and stabilize the concrete. 

Our crew installed PolyLevel under the concrete slabs to carefully lift and re-level the entire patio and walkway. Once the concrete’s level and stability were restored, our crew completed the repairs with crack and joint sealant.

Since our homeowner was concerned about their concrete becoming damaged or worn out, our crew returned the next day to apply a protective concrete sealant.
